Kelly/Scott Jazztet “Artfully Christmas!”

So well received last year, this entertaining group returns with an evening of holiday jazz featuring artfully original arrangements of Christmas songs and seasonal favorites, nuanced in classical and jazz styles of swing, Brazilian Bossa Nova, shuffling gospel, heartfelt ballads, light funk, Bebop, to New Orleans grooves. The group includes multi-award winning jazz vocalist Lisa Kelly, former New Orleans/Miami Latin trumpeter JB Scott, Jeff Phillips on piano, strings, guitar, premier UNF top collegiate bassist Corbin Schmidt, and UF drum pro artist professor Clyde Connor on drums. Career backgrounds include the Larry Elgart Orchestra, the New York Pops, the St. Johns River City Band, Walt Disney World theme parks, leading the legendary Dukes of Dixieland, to drumming with the renowned Navy Commodores in D.C. These highly regarded artists have headlined often sold-out concerts for jazz clubs, corporate events, major concert halls and jazz festivals. Together, they’ve toured, recorded, and delighted numerous audiences, regionally to internationally. Their two sets of holiday jazz will include arrangements from their new CD, “Artfully Christmas,” including What Child is This, Counting Your Blessings, Winter Wonderland, We Three Kings, The Christmas Song, and many others, CDs will be available for purchase at the concert!
