Accompanied by pianist, Tommy Cosentino, Drew Harrison presents a loving, emotionally charged retrospective of the life and career of one of the most popular artists of all time, told through stories and songs from The Beatles years through the final recordings of his life. Gifted with the most natural, effortless Lennon voice in the music world, Harrison has been performing John’s songs and weaving the tales and anecdotes that go along with them for nearly two decades.
Drew Harrison
Born in New York City, now based in the San Francisco Bay Area, singer-songwriter Drew Harrison is one of those rare recording artists with the ability to translate life into song. His passionate, honest, and intense style resonates in the vein of Bono, Ritchie Havens and John Lennon.
In the show, Drew goes beyond just sounding like Lennon, but captures the intensity and delicate honesty that Lennon brought to the Beatles music, and later to his own post-Beatles creations.
In Love is the Answer, Drew leads the 9-piece Plastic Fauxno Band in a rock and roll concert encompassing Lennon’s post-Beatles repertoire; a concert the world unfortunately was never able to witness. Drew also leads The Sun Kings, a critically acclaimed Beatles tribute band.
He has enjoyed a long career in original music including the bands New Religion and Ted 302. The Honesty Convention, Ted 302’s album, was produced by Keith Olson (of Goodnight LA & Sound City Studios) and Troy Lucketta of Tesla. As a solo artist, Drew has performed throughout the US, in Europe, and South America, having been invited to open for such elite artists as Richard Thompson, Lyle Lovett, and Steve Miller. His 2007 solo acoustic release, Go it Alone, has enjoyed robust success. In recent years, Drew has been a special musical guest on the celebrated Dave Koz & Friends at Sea Cruise.
Drew is a popular guest on Beatles-centric radio and internet broadcasts. He has also performed as an actor for stage, TV, and film productions. His abilities as a multi-talented performer have earned him fans throughout the world. Drew adheres to a simple, sustaining philosophy of living life fully and giving back when one can.
