Featuring the Ocala Symphony’s Principal 2nd Violinist, Aniela Moldovan, horn section member, Will Winter, and Canadian composer and pianist, Christopher Goddard.

Tritium Ensemble (Will Winter, horn; Tania Moldovan, violin; Chris Goddard, piano) provides exhilarating and innovative chamber music programs that showcase the potential of the horn trio genre. Since its founding in 2021, the trio has performed across the north and central Florida region including featured shows at the Romanza Festival (St. Augustine), the Howey Music Series, Church of the Redeemer (Sarasota), and Holy Trinity Episcopal Church (Gainesville). Through its performance and commissioning of new music, Tritium Ensemble is committed to expanding the horn trio repertoire and reaching new audiences with its diverse programming.

Tritium Ensemble performs a varied program of works drawn from four centuries of chamber music for violin, horn and piano. Eric Heumann’s Cosmic Excursion (a recent TE commission) evokes an expanse of time and space with its pulsating minimalist energy. Eugène Bozza’s episodic En Forêt takes us closer to home, combining elements of romanticism and modernism while featuring a range of virtuosic playing techniques on the French horn. Mozart’s Violin Sonata in E minor, a masterpiece of the violin repertoire written during the composer’s visit to Paris in 1778, rounds out the first half. The program concludes with a cornerstone of the horn–violin–piano repertoire, Brahms’s Horn Trio, op. 40. Conceived as an homage to his late mother, this sprawling four-movement work – nearly orchestral in scope – explores a wide constellation of moods, from tenderness and brooding to ultimately exuberance and joy.
