Joshua L. Mazur presents a program of music by the acclaimed American Composer Philip Glass, including popular original works for piano (Metamorphosis I-V, Mad Rush, Witchita Vortex Sutra, Piano Etudes, Music in Fifths, Glassworks) and the composer’s arrangements of music from the 2002 film “The Hours”, and opera “Einstein on the Beach”. Glass’ music is known for its gently shimmering polyrhythmic textures and for their often hypnotizing and meditative repetitive structures. Music for our time, especially now.
