Ocklawaha: Tales My Father Told is a documentary produced by Florida Defenders of the Environment inspired by composer John Gottsch’s symphonic poem celebrating the Ocklawaha River. Through sweeping orchestral music and award-winning cinematography, the film brings to life childhood stories of a river that once ran freely and explores its rich natural and cultural history, as well as the citizen movement that fought to protect it. The film invites audiences to experience the Ocklawaha through music and imagery, inspiring a new generation to connect with Florida’s rivers.
