“Once in a while an album comes out that reminds us how the tenor saxophone is supposed to sound” – Jazz Times

Saxophonist Jeff Rupert has appeared on over 75 albums, and over 1000 commercial recordings and yet his impact is most evident in his live performances. Rupert’s group is popular nationally and internationally with over 7 million streams on spotify, alone, and hundreds of festival and concert appearances in the last two years.  Rupert’s album The Ripple was the #5 jazz album of the year (2020) and his most recent album It Gets Better (2024) with jazz luminaries Kenny Barron, Joe Farnsworth and Peter Washington was in the top ten of the three national jazz charts for 17 weeks.

Join Jeff Rupert and his Quartet at the Reilly Arts Center for an evening of swinging tunes and a few bossa novas and ballads. He is Distinguished Professor, Trustee Endowed Chair, and Director of Jazz Studies at the University of Central Florida (UCF) and founded Flying Horse Records. Jeff Rupert authors and hosts Jazz and the American Spirit, a nationally syndicated weekly radio show on NPR, examining the connection between jazz and the American experience.
