Shine up your saddle shoes and get ready to jump jive n’ wail with Becky Baby and Swing Theory. Join us in the NOMA Black Box at the Reilly Arts Center for a celebration of Ocala history. The Spring Swing Dance Social is a tribute to days gone by. Take a trip back in time to the 1940s when dances were a part of our local culture!

Originally, the Reilly Arts building was the Ocala City Auditorium – a WPA project that was completed on July 4, 1940. Over the decades the auditorium hosted countless Ocala dances, proms, graduations, concerts and events. The Reilly continues this local legacy today.

Learn something new and meet new friends. Experience fun photo ops, specialty themed cocktails, a swing dance jam circle, and featured dance performances. The evening will be set to the soundtrack of incredible vintage music from Becky Baby and Gainesville’s favorite little big band, Swing Theory!

Don’t know how to swing dance? Here’s your chance to learn! Edward Stephen Gavlick III from Gainesville Swing Dancing will be leading the lesson at 7 PM! He will will have you rock-stepping in no time! If you’re a hep cat who already knows how to swing, cozy up with a cocktail and line up some dance partners in the lobby at cocktail hour. When the band starts playing, we’ve got just the place for you to strut your stuff! Get your tickets today! It don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing!
