Marcus Chandler

Marcus Chandler has spent 18 years immersed in percussion and the last 9 years teaching it. He holds an Associate’s degree in Music Education and studied at the university level as a member of the top symphonic band, building a foundation that spans the full range of the instrument — from orchestral and marching percussion to drumset.

His performance background is broad: he marched competitively in indoor percussion at the open and world class levels, played drumset for music theatre productions, and performed as a member of the Florida Youth Orchestra. Today he serves as Percussion Tech for several local band programs, including Belleview and Trinity High School and Osceola and Fort King Middle School.
For Marcus, percussion is a vehicle for something bigger than technique. He believes the discipline, focus, and resilience students build behind the instrument carry into every part of their lives — and he genuinely enjoys the process of inspiring, encouraging, and challenging each student he works with.
